Mutiny Saving launches the first fully 3D printed stainless steel razor that is environmentally frie

July 25, 2022 Starring Mutiny Saving, a UK-based Welsh startup specialising in reusable razors, has launched the first fully 3D printed stainless steel reusable razor, the 'R1'. The stainless steel R1 is the only razor in the UK to be completely3D printed, with 100% transparency and 0% waste contamination. It is made from sustainable, carbon neutral materials with no manufacturing pollution. mutiny is committed to pushing the boundaries, pushing the limits and creating the coolest razors and becoming the most environmentally friendly razor company on the planet.

Another thing that makes this razor stand out is the fact that it is 3D printed using wire extrusion techniques. These technologies can significantly reduce the cost of 3D printed metal parts with less complex geometries, such as those required for many consumer products, and this is the first commercial consumer product to be manufactured using extrusion additive processes.

This is not the first time Mutiny Saving has experimented with 3D printing technology to create reusable razors. Its Ocean Waste hybrid razor is made from recycled Cornish fishing nets with a unique handle and blade guard, 3D printed using material made from recycled fishing nets rescued or donated by the Cornish fleet, recycled in Cornwall and printed in Cornwall. It is part of Mutiny's environmental mission to make beautiful, reusable shaving products from recycled, recyclable and sustainable materials.

The first fully 3D printed stainless steel razor from Mutiny Saving - the R1 - complements the range of plastic 3D printed products.

Another model, the Mutiny Hybrid razor, is part of a partnership with Newport County Football Club. This 3D printed eco razor features a blade guard with logo embossing and a handle to express the celebration. It is 3D printed from recycled PLA, which is made from a completely sustainable corn starch material. It produces no manufacturing waste or transport contamination and it is designed, manufactured, printed and packaged locally in Newport, South Wales.

The large, thick square handle is designed to stand upright for easy drying and the handle also has a non-slip surface for easy use in the shower and bath. A blade guard keeps the razor and fingers safe. Priced at just £25,99, the MutinyHybrid is designed for a lifetime of use and comes with a lifetime Mutiny 'fix it' guarantee and 100% zero waste.

Other 3D printed models include the Rainbow Edition Hybrid with a unique 3D printed handle made from recycled corn starch that is sustainable, recyclable, biodegradable and industrially compostable, making it completely zero waste. The large, thick, square handle comes in a vibrant rainbow colour and is designed to stand upright.
