The pursuit of "new" is a constant obsession of the fashion industry and designers! New ideas and concepts, new design and production methods, 3D printing undoubtedly brings designers a new stage of creation.

ANNAKIKI is an internationally renowned independent designer brand that specializes in using technology and futuristic design language to create a unique identity label, and is one of the few Chinese designer brands to be featured on the official schedule of Milan Fashion Week. Recently, ANNAKIKI launched a 3D printed one-piece shoe "ETERNAL" in collaboration with the cutting-edge innovative footwear brand SCRY, which caused a stir at Milan Fashion Week 2023.

The brand has taken a break from the popular appearance and reflected on it, using a surrealistic and quirky aesthetic to turn curiosity about the future into today's fashion language, using fashion as a carrier of expression and digital technology as a medium of dialogue, fashion vs.

From "sports shock absorption" to "fashion creativity"

3D printed shoes usher in a new inflection point!

If the mass production of midsoles is the 1.0 era of 3D printed shoes, then the mass production of fashionable shoes based on digital design is the 2.0 era of 3D printed shoes.

Take ANNAKIKI × SCRY co-branded designer brand "ETERNAL" as an example, the shoe uses ANNAKIKI classic 3D three-dimensional wave sleeve and four mans star elements, combined with the designer SCRY unique design concept, giving the shoe a three-dimensional sense and streamlined shape.

The sole of the shoe conceals the cross four mans star element, in the continuation of ANNAKIKI retro-futuristic aesthetics, while further exploring the possibility of symbiosis between human beings and technology and art.

The shoes are made under the unique "DIGITAL EMBRYO" technical framework, using the world's top parametric design and HALS ultra-high-speed 3D printing by BOLLYWOOD Factory to achieve a direct conversion from virtual to reality.

SCRY Shuttle is the first truly wearable 3D printed digital footwear launched by SCRY, a cutting-edge footwear innovation lab that has been actively collaborating with 3D printing manufacturers since 2020 to explore the future of digital design and manufacturing of footwear. With its unique design and innovative concept, this 3D printed shoe was not only invited to Paris Fashion Week, but also permanently collected by Bata Shoe Museum, the largest shoe museum in Toronto, Canada.

At the same time, famous designer Kanye West and luxury brand "Parisienne" have recently showcased their new 3D printed fashion shoes on social media.

After the early exploration period of functional shoes, 3D printed shoes have entered the era of fashion and personalization, with ultra-high-speed 3D printing, cutting-edge high-performance new materials and new design concepts changing the industry and ecology of today's footwear.

The new windfall of 3D printing footwear industry

First-mover advantage is obvious, domestic manufacturers welcome new opportunities

The mass production of a new shoe by traditional manufacturing methods often requires multiple processes such as design, prototype, mold opening, cutting, and assembly. 3D printed shoes are simplified to 2 steps: design + printing, which greatly reduces the production process of shoes, saving costs while improving efficiency, so 3D printing is also the direction of the future development of the shoe industry.

For 3D printed shoes, the most critical thing is the two parts: design + printing (production).

3D printed shoes are often made from soft rubber-like "TPU" materials (including wire, powder, resin), using FDM fused deposition technology, SLS powder laser sintering technology or DLP digital light curing molding.

New materials, new production methods, and new productivity tools mean that a new era has begun. Along with the rapid development of 3D printing technology, in the major fashion weeks and trend circle, emerged more and more surprising new fashion products, a change in the fashion industry brought about by technological innovation is taking place.
